Our Visit to the Children's Museum

Today Carter and I went to the Children's Museum with our playgroup. We've been wanting to go since they opened! We had so much fun! It's a hands on museum where the kids are able to play and have fun!

Visiting the Phoenix Zoo!

Today we went to the Phoenix Zoo! We had a pass we needed to use before the end of the month and decided to head out early before it got too hot. Thank goodness they have splash pads at the zoo...even though we got there early it was very hot. We got there when they opened at 9 and stayed until they closed at 5...Carter was having that much fun! We stayed cool by taking lots of breaks at the splash pads and drinking lots and lots of water. A Fun Family Weekend!

We had so much fun this weekend! We took advantage of Ben's long holiday weekend and took a day trip to Prescott on Saturday. We walked around the town and did some window shopping, checked on my property, had some lunch and headed home.

Then on Sunday we made some pancakes and got dressed and headed to the splash park. After the splash park we went over to Ben's parents and spent the rest of the day with them. Carter was having so much fun he wanted to spend the night! We're so proud of our little guy that he's able to let go and spend the night away from Ben and I...but, who wouldn't want to stay with Mimi and Pa??? He had a blast...of course! Then on Monday Ben picked him up and had a father/son day...while I stayed home and went to the grocery stores and cleaned. All in all it was a very nice relaxing weekend...we needed it!

Weekend Fun...Playing With Cousin Esmeralda!

We had soo much fun playing with my sister's daughter, Esmeralda! Carter absolutely adores her and is so excited when she comes over to visit. I think he told her about every 5 minutes that he loves her so much! Poor guy didn't want her to go when my mom came to pick her up on Sunday.

Swimming is So Much Fun!

Tonight we went to a pool party! Carter had so much fun...he jumped right in and started playing with all the other kids! Hopefully this means he's ready for swim lessons this year! We don't want him to cry for an entire week of lessons again...that was NOT fun!

Cashing in Carter's Pennies

Today Carter and I went to Target because he wanted to spend the money he's been saving in his piggy bank. But, first went to go to the bank to cash in his pennies for dollars. He was traumatized...poor guy thought we were giving the banker all his money...he didn't understand that they were going to give him dollar bills back. I didn't want to traumatize him anymore than I already had...I ended up giving him the dollar bills from my wallet. I thought it would've been good for him to get the full affect by cashing in his change at the bank...boy was I wrong :)

He went into Target knowing exactly what he wanted to buy...Domino's...like his friend Lindsay has! He also wanted a memory game. He's really into games lately...I'm so happy he didn't want to buy more Hotwheels...he has sooo many Hotwheels!!!

Carter's 3 Years and 7 Months Today!

Today we went to Busy Bodies. Carter had so much fun playing with his friends! After Busy Bodies he wanted to go and pick out a toy at Target with his gift card. He picked out Monster Mutt (in honor of Buddy...he said the truck reminded him of Buddy). This is the conversation we had on our drive home...

Carter: A lady drives Monster Mutt. You're not a lady...so you can't drive Monster Mutt.
Mommy: I'm not a lady? Then what am I???
Carter: You're Mommy! And you have to be safe...so you can't drive Monster Mutt...it's not safe!
Mommy: Ok...I won't drive Monster Mutt...I'll be safe!

I thought this conversation was very cute...my little Carter always looking out for me :)

We Love You, Buddy!

We received some really sad news on Friday. Ben's parents dog, Buddy passed away. Yesterday we went to Ben's parents house and we weren't sure how we were going to break the news to Carter (remember how devastated he was about his fish?) We decided to tell him once he started asking questions. He went almost the entire day without asking where Buddy was. Then all the sudden we were going to play outside and there came the question we were waiting for..."Where's Buddy?" We told him that Buddy died and he was in Heaven with the Angels. He had lots of questions...why?, when's he coming back?, go get him...I'm not quiet sure that Carter fully understands that Buddy isn't coming back. He kept saying, "He'll be back tomorrow...he'll be just fine." We let him know that Buddy wasn't coming back. But, I don't think he fully gets it yet. Poor guy.

Then this morning Carter said he saw Buddy playing on the mountain. He said Buddy was on the mountain...not in the clouds (Heaven). He said astronauts go in the sky...Buddy can't go in the sky...it's not for dogs....it's for space shuttles...Buddy will get hurt (Carter is VERY literal lately). He said Buddy was having fun playing in the rivers (this is what Pa told Carter). I think he had a dream about Buddy...I also think this is a nice way to think of where Buddy is at now.

We're going to frame one of the pictures of Carter and Buddy to put in Carter's room. We told Carter that he can look at his picture of him and Buddy whenever he misses him. Buddy is missed very very much...we all loved him so much!

Happy Mother's Day!

I had such a beautiful day with my boys! We enjoyed the morning together then we went over to Ben's parents and had a nice afternoon with them.

Carter made me a beautiful homemade card with his hand print...I will cherish it forever! I absolutely love it! Ben and Carter also gave me a Willow Tree figurine....it is absolutely beautiful! Ben has made this a tradition. Every Mother's Day he's given me a figurine of a mother and her child...I love this tradition!
