Jacob is 34 Weeks

I had another perinatal appointment today to monitor my gestational diabetes.  I first had the ultrasound done where I seriously wanted to take little Jacob out of my tummy so I could hold him....is he not the cutest???

But, of course he has to grow some more....so I'll just have to wait.  :)

Next, I talked with the diabetes educator and she told me to eat MORE!  Can you believe it?  She wants Jacob to grow larger in the next 2 weeks before my next appointment.  Jacob was in the 19th percentile 2 weeks ago (they won't do another growth scan for another 2 weeks) and they want him at least in the 25th percentile.

Finally, I saw the doctor who basically told me the same thing the diabetes educator told me...to eat more!  Doctor's orders....Mexican food!  Yum....you don't have to tell me twice!

It's A BOY!!!!

Today we had our 20 week ultrasound! Ben, Carter and Deb went with me to my appointment. Carter was so excited to see his little brother or sister on the ultrasound....and to (of course) find out if he was going to have a brother or a sister :) The ultrasound tech let us know right away that the newest addition to The Martin Family is a BOY!!!!

Jellybean's Ultrasounds

We've had a couple of ultrasounds done so far during my pregnancy.

7/18/11 ~ 9 Weeks....

Carter thinks the baby looks like a "Jellybean" in this picture.  :)

Ben and I heard the heartbeat for the first time during this ultrasound!  It was so exciting....especially since I was only 9 weeks!


8/11/11 ~ 12 Weeks...

Ben, Carter and I went to this appointment.  The doctor wasn't able to find the heartbeat with the doppler, so she used the ultrasound machine to find the heartbeat.  We were so excited to see our little "Jellybean" jumping around the screen!
